Chain 3 at the beginning of the row counts as the first DC unless stated otherwise.
Gauge – 4 rows = 2” 8 sts = 2”
Abbreviations
- CH – chain
- DC – double crochet
- SK – skip
- ST – stitch
Special Stitches
- Shell Stitch – ( 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in the stitch indicated.
- Wrap – [YO, insert hook around the DC post that you made last, pull up a loop] total of 3 times, YO, pull through all the loops on the hook.
Pattern Instructions
CH 43
Row 1 – (RS) Make a Shell st in the 7th ch from the hook. (the first 6 chains count as first dc), *Sk next 3 chs, DC in the next ch**, wrap (see special stitches), sk 3 chs, shell in the next ch, repeat from * across, ending with a DC, turn.
Row 2 – Ch 3 (counts as a stitch), *shell in the ch space of the next shell**, DC in the DC of wrap, rep from * across, ending last rep with a shell, DC in the last stitch (the ch 3 space), turn.
Row 3 – Ch 3, shell in the ch space of the next shell, sk next 3 DC from the shell, DC in the next DC, wrap, shell in the ch space of the next shell across. ending with a DC in the last st, turn.
Rep rows 2 and 3 alternately for the pattern 2 more times. Total of 7 rows. Fasten Off and leave a long tail to sew the edges together inside out, weave in your ends.
