crochet hook, yarn and a square dish scrubby in purple

Welcome, everyone! I have a new dish scrubby for ya! I am so excited to share this one because it’s my favorite and I use it every day! In fact, I made this last month and tried it out for weeks before releasing it! I wanted to make sure it was something I loved using and I REALLY do! I hope you all enjoy making this upper quick and easy dish scrubby! I also have round scrubby with this same yarn if you are interested in checking it out! It is called the Easy Round Dish Scrubby!

I decided to amp up the blog post so I purchased some fun blueish purple and Hot pink at my local Hobby Lobby. They are the Scrub-ology Scrub It Yarn! I lOVE it!! And they run a sale all the time for 30% OFF their yarn ALL the time, so that’s the perfect time to snag a few!!

Another similar-sized yarn that is perfect for this is, Lion Brands NEW Sponge Cake yarn, You can find it at your local Joann’s or online. !

You can find me on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest! @arianaehall Tag me if you make one or two!

The fun crochet hook is from and I love them! All handmade ergonomic hooks made with resin!

  • Yarn Bee Scrub-ology Scrub it! I used Blue Thistle and Hot Pink
  • 6.00 mm Crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors
  • CH – chain
  • ST – stitch
  • Sl ST – slip stitch
  • SC – single crochet
  • DC – double crochet

  • CH 3 counts as a stitch only at the end of each row to keep edges as even as possible.

Chain 12

Row 1 – DC in the 4th ch from the hook, *SC in the next CH, DC in the next. Repeat to the end. (9)

Row 2 – CH 3, DC in the first stitch, SC in the next ST, DC in the next ST, SC in the next, DC in the next, SC in the next, DC in the next, SC in the next, DC into the CH 3. Turn. (9)

Row 3 – 9 – Repeat Row 2 .  When you get to Row #9, Fasten Off and weave in every lose end.

If you would like you can keep using the same color to slip stitch around the edge, I use a contrast color to make it a little more fun and easier to show you how it turns out.

The Purpose of the slip stitches is to help the dish scrubby from stretching out, giving you a longer-lasting scrubby!

I use the Hot Pink color and starting at the corner of the square scrubby. Then using a loose tension slip stitch around evenly in between rows and in between stitch posts. When you get to the first slip stitch, insert your hook through in between the first slip stitch and fasten off. Weave in your ends.

Voila! You are finished! I hope you enjoyed them, they are such a quick and cute scrubby that really do a great job! If you make any of your own! Please feel free to tag me on social media!
