Abbreviations:
MC – Magic circle aka magic ring
ST – stitch aka space
SL ST – Slip stitch
CH – chain
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet
SCDEC – single crochet decrease
InvDec. – Invisible single crochet decrease. insert the hook through the front loop of the next two stitches, yarn over and pull through, yarn over and pull through the two-loop on the hook.
SCINC – single crochet increase – two single crochet stitches in the same stitch.
Notes:
You will be working in the round so keep a stitch marker close to keep track of each round.
As for the eyes and nose, the safety material I used is optional. Other methods of applications include; crocheting small circles shapes to sew on or simply sew on using a black yarn wrapping it about 3 times to make oval like eyes.
When using safety eyes make sure you secure it correctly according to the instructions.
My tension is naturally tight when making amigurumi, keep that in mind for the end result. You want to make sure the holes of the stitches are not too loose or else the poly-fil will show through easier.
The yarn you choose to use will increase or decrease the size of the amigurumi.
This kitty measures from the head is to the elongated bottom leg approximately 10 inches tall. 7 inches approximately when sitting.
