LUCY THE CAT – AMIGURIMI CROCHET PATTERN

Hi! Welcome back to another crochet pattern!! I am super excited about this one, and I know I say that about all of them but they are all like my yarn babies! They are so special to me!

My daughter Victoria picked out the animal, color, and specifically asked for rainbow colors! So that same night I started to work on this cat! I decided to give the cat a rainbow tail! But you go for what makes your little happy! This is so versatile in color and made from a child’s imagination! That is what I am most happy about it too! Creating something that is cuddly and ready to take anywhere is what my kids enjoy, therefore I share with you Lucy the Cat! Victoria’s new pet kitty!

I hope you enjoy this as much as I do! As always! don’t forget to tag me on social media!

Abbreviations:

CH – chain

ST – stitch

SC – single crochet

Rnd – round

SC Inc – single crochet increase ( two single crochet in the same stitch)

SC2TOG FLO- single crochet the next two stitches together using the FRONT LOOP ONLY.

Number in ( ) is the remaining stitches of that round.

Materials:

3.75 mm Crochet Hook

Worsted #4 yarn.

  • I used all hobby lobby yarn, Pink for the body, cream for mouth, paws, and end of the tail, some lilac purple for the nose, and extra bow.
  • rainbow bow and tail were made with Lion Brand Rainbow Ice Cream yarn cotton blend line.

Dark grey yarn for eyes, eyelashes, paws, and whiskers (black works too.)

Pink blush for the cheeks – optional.

Stitch marker- 4.5 inches of scrap yarn works great!

Poly-fil

Yarn needle

Scissors

Notes:

  • The body of the cat is worked up from the head and flows into the body so it is completed in one piece. Make sure you fill up with Poly-fil as you work up making sure you add enough by the neck so it holds well.
  • The legs, tail, and mouth should be filled lightly with poly-fil or as you’d like.
  • Make sure to leave a long tail of yarn when you fasten off to use for sewing on the body later. This applies to the mouth, bows, legs, and tail. The ears you can leave a long tail prior to making the slip knot to make it easier to sew on.
  • This pattern does require color change for the legs and the tail.
  • Highly recommend using a color contrasting yarn when working up the rounds to help keep your place as a stitch marker!
  • The approximate size is 16 inches from the tip of the ear to the bottom leg.
  • Have fun with it and let me know if you have any questions!
