UNICORN MIA – AMIGURUMI CROCHET PATTERN

January 6, 2022 by Ariana Hall Leave a Comment

I have created another unicorn for my daughter’s collection. Seems like Unicorns are still her favorite and I am all for it! This time around I thought a little dress would be so cute on the little unicorn. She is worked up from the legs, in rounds to the top of the head just like my previous amigurumi. I hope you enjoy this new free pattern! More coming soon!

You can find the Ad-free version – Printer-friendly PDF I have created for you available in my Etsy shop. I am really proud of how it turned out!

This pattern and the pictures are the property of Ariana Hall and may not be altered, shared, or sold. You are welcome to sell the finished product for a fair price, but please give credit to the designer by linking my shop or pattern in your description. Please use your own pictures as well. Read Before beginning

  • STITCH MARKER – You will be working in rounds so keep a stitch marker close to use when working up the doll. Unless otherwise stated to CH and turn. They will mark the 1st st of each round. I use scrap yarn pieces.
  • TENSION – Make sure you use a tight enough tension to help close any “holes” a loose tension may cause. I crochet yarning under then Over to create a tighter stitch. Go down a hook size if needed. ( my tension is naturally tight)
  • PATTERN- (Example – *SC in 8, INV DEC in the next. Repeat from * to the end. (36) ) You will end that round with the second step of what that round instructs. This will vary.
  • ASSEMBLY – The amigurumi is worked up by first making two legs then joining together. I have a YOUTUBE VIDEO on how to do that https://youtu.be/h4A5-Lm-yPM . Then you work up the body and head. Other body parts are made and sewn on after.
  • POLY- FIL – Stuff using small amounts at a time so it doesn’t create dense spots. Add a little extra in the neck area for support.

Sewing:

Add 3 of the short curls to the back of the Unicorn for the tail. I placed them as close together as I could.

Take 3 of the long curls and sew them between the ears. Picture 1.

The last 2 long curls and place them underneath the 3 curls to fill in the gap. P{icture 2.

For the last short curl, I placed it on the top with the end towards the front of the right ear.

Eyes and blush

With black yarn embroider eyes as seen below on both sides. I use Rounds 50 & 51 for the eyes. 6 stitch spaces apart.

Blush is optional. I use cosmetic grade blush (ELF pink blush) with a small brush and added a little bit at a time, right below the eye. You can also use pink yarn as an option.
